We are delighted to announce our appointment on the ‘Light House Development’ comprising one commercial unit and nine, two-bedroom residential apartments in the Colney Hatch district of London.

As the appointed Approved Inspector, we have been working with the project architect, Lipton Plant Architects, to offer proactive, engineered solutions and guidance as the design has developed in order to comply with The Building Regulations. To date, we have produced our relevant Building Control Tracker, Statutory Consultations and will provide our Site Inspection services throughout the construction duration, which is due to start on site imminently.

The project looks to demolish the existing pub and develop the site for this mixed-use scheme. Lipton Plant Architects have designed a stimulating and unique building that celebrates the birthplace of British Film pioneer and scientific instrument inventor, Robert Paul (1869-1943), also known as ‘Daddy Paul’ in the film industry. He lived, worked, and filmed in the surrounding streets to Colney Hatch Lane and often used local characters and events in his work.

The innovative corner plot on Sydney Road and Colney Hatch Lane, Muswell Hill, North London, will showcase a light defusing void that Lipton Plant Architects describe resembles Daddy Paul’s ‘Urban Lens’. The projecting light void will become the focal point of this new development but the impressively designed luxurious residential and commercial units will also create an eye-catching view for passers-by.

“It is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in this inspiring scheme that celebrates the area’s local history and success of past residents. We are excited for the scheme to commence on site where we will provide technical guidance throughout the final stages to its anticipated completion.”
