Appointed directly by Kier Regional Building Western & Wales, we are proud to have provided Building Control services and support as part of the construction team that successfully converted the Exhibition and Conference Centre on the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) Frenchay campus into a 300-bed temporary hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The NHS Nightingale Hospital at Bristol, which was launched on the 27th April following 20 days of successful site construction, is a facility hosted by North Bristol NHS Trust for the South West region, for nurses, doctors, managers and other staff from across the area to collaborate and to provide  care for COVID-19 patients.

Appointed by Kier who delivered its works under the Procure 22 Framework, our role was that of an Approved Inspector and working with the extended construction team which included BDP Architects, OFR Fire & Risk Consultants, Ridge & Partners LLP, Integral and Priddy.

“Being able to provide Building Control services as the Approved Inspector at this temporary Hospital was something that we were delighted to be a part of. We fully support the NHS and their tremendous efforts during this global pandemic. Working with Kier and the extended construction and design teams was a project that we were proud to be involved with.”
