We were approached by gcp Chartered Architects to provide Registered Building Control Approver services in connection with the construction of a new hub building for the Swindon Town FC Football in the Community Trust. The project was developed to provide a modern and flexible facility that supports the Trust’s expanding community programmes and wider engagement activities across the local area.

The new building was designed to create a welcoming and accessible environment capable of accommodating a range of community focused functions, including educational programmes, training sessions, meetings, events and wellbeing initiatives. As a key part of the Trust’s long term investment into community facilities, the development was intended to provide a high quality space that could support people of all ages and backgrounds.

The construction works involved the delivery of a modern purpose built facility incorporating a variety of internal spaces tailored to the operational needs of the Community Trust. The scheme required careful consideration of accessibility, fire safety, energy efficiency and overall building performance to ensure the completed development met current Building Regulations standards while providing a safe and practical environment for daily use.

Our role included carrying out detailed plan assessments and undertaking regular site inspections throughout the construction process to monitor compliance across all stages of the works. This involved reviewing structural elements, fire protection measures, drainage installations and general construction standards as the project progressed on site.

The completed hub building has provided Swindon Town FC Football in the Community Trust with a modern and adaptable facility that supports its continued work within the local community, delivering a valuable space for education, outreach and engagement activities linked to the football club and the wider Swindon area.
