We are pleased to be appointed as the Approved Inspector on a development of the former police station for Thames Valley Police in Sonning Common, South Oxfordshire. Works are well underway on the development of three new dwellings and a commercial office space which includes an extension and conversion of a two storey three-bedroom house with a link attached single storey building, and link attached single storey double garage.
The attractive new office space and dwellings are being constructed by Newgate Developments Ltd and will include a one, two and three-bedroom dwelling all with suitable parking, amenity space and surrounded by modern landscaping. Newgate is a property development company operating within Berkshire and Oxfordshire, with a team that is highly experienced in construction and development.
‘From the first initial enquiry from our client, I was aware that we needed to manage the application process quickly to allow for work to start on site imminently. We were able to meet these requirements and proceed with the submission of our Initial Notice for works to start on site immediately after the acceptance was received. Subsequently, a plans assessment has been undertaken and we have carried out on site visits at the relevant stages of the build so far to oversee the compliance aspects. It is great to be involved in a project which sees a retired building being utilised once again, to the benefit of the local community.’
To date, our London office have produced a relevant Building Control Plan Check Report, submitted Statutory Consultations and have visited site at the necessary stages throughout the construction so far and will continue to do so through to completion.
