Natalie Holness

Senior Building Control Surveyor, BSc(Hons) PgCert MRICS

My work background:

I have enjoyed working in Building Control for seventeen years, starting my career in Local Authority Building Control whilst studying an undergraduate degree in Building Control.

Subsequently to that, I have spent the remaining time in the private sector achieving Chartered status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and achieving a Postgraduate Diploma in Accessibility.

About my role:

I became part of Cook Brown Building Control’s London team as a Senior Building Control Surveyor in August 2019.

I have been part of project teams for several projects including Commercial, Mixed-Use, luxury Retail, Bars/Restaurants, Schools, large-scale and bespoke Residential building types in and around London. Areas of expertise include large scale Residential and Mixed-Use developments with complex Fire Strategies and the application of Approved Document M.

I am always keen to collaborate with clients to maintain their vision and meet their objectives whilst achieving compliance with the Building Regulations.

About me:

I have always had an interest in construction, stepping on my first building site when I was about nine years old! Born and raised in East London, married and now living South of the river with my husband and our two pedigree Pixie Bob cats called Sanchez and Nacho (We are also Arsenal fans). I enjoy travelling, horse racing and baking.

Random facts:

I have thirty-two versions of the board game Monopoly, including limited editions London Fire Brigade 150th Anniversary, Newmarket Jockey Club 350th Anniversary and City University London Edition.
