Gareth Sims
Assistant Building Control Surveyor
My work background:
I have worked in the private Building Control sector for six years working on a variety of different projects, which are predominantly domestic. Having worked for a Social Housing company, I then moved into Building Control through an Apprenticeship Scheme. The projects that I deal with mostly range from small domestic extensions to large detached dwellings.
I have an HNC in Construction as well as being an Associated Member of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers. I am currently working towards Chartered Building Engineer status.
About my role:
On a day-to-day basis I undertake Site Inspections, Plan Checking and helping customers with Compliance enquiries. My role is varied in many respects which is one of the main reasons why I enjoy it including being out on-site meeting new people and having a positive impact on the end result.
I am based in our Tewkesbury branch which offers a mixture of both rural and urban settings covering Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, and Worcestershire.
About me:
Outside of work I enjoy socialising with friends, going to watch rugby and football, and getting to the driving range.
