Operations Director, MRICS
My work background:
I started working in the construction Industry as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor but soon switched professions in 1987 to a Trainee Building Control Surveyor. I have thirty-three years’ experience in Building Control in both public and private sectors. During that time, I have dealt with a broad spectrum of building projects in all sectors of the market. I have managed many different teams over the years and have enjoyed the challenges which that has presented.
About my role:
As Operations Director, my key areas of responsibilities are the strategic direction of the company, its performance and operational effectiveness. I am responsible for the ISO9001 Quality Management System and the integral role that plays in delivering a customer focussed and collaborative approach across all office locations. As well as working as part of the Directing team, I have an operational caseload working with key clients on a broad cross section of schemes from Multi-Storey Student Accommodation through to Commercial projects.
I am married with two girls who both love sport, so we are a family who enjoy spending most weekends watching and playing sport, whether that is swimming, dancing, cricket, netball or gymnastics. I am a (poor) but keen golfer when I can find the time and enjoy supporting Bristol Rugby Club.
I have very much enjoyed several physical challenges over the years having completed the Three Peaks Challenge several times and the Black Mountain Roundabout on several occasions. A few years ago, I completed a half Iron Man Triathlon but now concentrate my efforts on learning new “Tik-Tok” dances with my children.
