Principal Building Control Surveyor, BSc(Hons) MRICS MCABE
My work background:
I hold a BSc (Hons) degree in Building Surveying and am a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and Chartered Association of Building Engineers. During my ten years’ experience as an Approved Inspector, I have lead APC training programs for Graduate Surveyors and have supervised candidates to successfully become Chartered Surveyors.
I have obtained experience on a wide variety of projects in terms of size and complexity for both Commercial and Domestic clients. Originally from a construction background, I endeavour to offer practical and innovative solutions to achieving compliance with the Building Regulations at all stages of the process.
About my role:
I joined Cook Brown Building Control as a Principal Building Control Surveyor in July 2019. Within my role I work closely with the design and construction teams offering honest, practical, and initiative solutions to assist in delivering the client brief whilst achieving compliance with the Building Regulations.
I am fortunate to have gained experience across all sectors from small Residential Extensions to multi-million-pound New Build and Mixed-Use Regeneration Schemes. Having recently worked on several New Build SEN Schools, I have gained a deeper appreciation of the importance as an Approved Inspector to taking an informed, pragmatic approach to achieving compliance and the positive effect this has on the end user.
Coming from a construction background, I am at my happiest when I am covered in dust from undertaking DIY projects at the weekends. I am also partial to the occasional pint of Guinness.
