We were appointed alongside our sister company Cook Brown Energy, to provide Plans Assessment and Site Inspection Services for the construction of two new dwellings in the Coombe Dingle area of Bristol. These two wonderfully designed detached, state of the art houses, were constructed by Benchmark Builders Ltd for their client Ryan Pascoe and have been finished to an impeccable high-quality.
The hillside location of the site presented some challenges, especially when it came to reinforced structural concrete elements, including a podium deck to support the timber frame construction above. There were some interesting challenges that arose during the build, with means of escape requirements, external fire spread, staircase/guarding design and roof design. Close liaison between our surveyor and the contractor throughout the construction stages ensured buildability and compliance with the regulations. Cook Brown Energy were able to assist in the energy efficient design, achieving a final EPC rating of B.
