In 2019, we were appointed to provide Building Control services for the fit-out of the historic Compressor Building at Finzels Reach in Bristol City Centre. Overlooking the waterfront, this beautiful building—boasting over 250 years of brewing history—was successfully crowd-funded by 1,500 people investing in the Left Handed Giant Brew Pub, making it the central hub of Bristol’s beer scene.

Developed by Cubex, a commercial developer that has actively transformed the entire area of Finzels Reach. This impressive project included the creation of a new bar, restaurant facilities, and ancillary accommodations.

The brewpub is instantly recognisable with its large open front that overlooks the iconic Floating Harbour.

Set across three floors, the creative task of interior design was executed in-house, perfectly translating the beauty of Bristol with a vibrant yet minimal aesthetic. The building pays homage to its industrial heritage while offering a visible insight into the current brewing process through transparent glass displays.
