We were contacted by Marlborough College to provide full Building Control Services on the construction of a new two-storey teaching block on campus. The former Kennet Building that previously occupied the land was demolished to make way for a new state-of-the-art Innovation Centre.
The building has been designed with the environment in mind and benefits from a thermally efficient envelope, photovoltaic panels, natural ventilation, excellent daylighting and reduced water consumption. It is set over two levels with 1000m2 of space that forms cutting-edge teaching and exhibition space.
The generous floor to ceiling height provides space to create large-scale prototypes unconstrained by a standard classroom. An impressive glass façade allows passers by a view into the pupils’ activities and an opportunity for pupils to engage with the stunning local nature.

The three-and a half million-pound building was completed earlier this year and opened its doors to the first pupils in April. After successful completion of the Innovation Centre, we have been re-appointed on the College’s next exciting project, The Science Building.
