Following the “Building a Safer Future. An Implementation Plan” presented to Parliament by the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government along with the Hackitt Review after the fire at Grenfell, emphasis was put on the need for regular inspection of work during construction to check that specified materials and standards of workmanship have been adhered to.
We have been approached by many new and existing clients to provide our technical Building Control services for the replacement of cladding on buildings in England and Wales. The cladding is being replaced with non-combustible cladding solutions which often include the build-up of proprietary fixing systems, insulation and waterproofing.
Our Special Projects Building Control Team are highly experienced in the delivery of Approved Inspector Building Control solutions on complex buildings and provide a proactive and detailed compliance check of design drawings, consultation with the fire authority and site inspections leading to the serving of a Final Certificate. Our technical teams are working on many replacement cladding schemes throughout the country on hotels, flats, student accommodation and commercial properties. We are also undergoing additional training under the RICS EWS1 Assessment Training Programme.
“The highly professional replacement cladding delivery teams we work with really appreciate our early involvement in their schemes, our deep dive into component compliance, excellent reporting and record keeping and our knowledge of the Regulations brings confidence that projects are on the right track to meet compliance.”
We are a leading Approved Inspector with many years of experience working across all sectors, both in domestic and commercial elements of new build, extensions and refurbishment projects.
