Building Control Inspection

At Cook Brown Building Control, we issue a letter to the client/principal designer/principal contractor which includes Key Stage Inspection Notifications, this is when you will be required to notify us that the works has reached this stage. This will help us determine if an inspection is required and the type of inspection that is suitable, inspections are a key part of how we undertake our function. These different stages of work help determine if compliance is being achieved onsite. We record our site visits on a site inspection report which is issued to the client/principal contractor/principal designer.

What is a Building Control Site Report?

A Building Control site report is simply a way of noting what has been seen on site. It gives our Inspectors at Cook Brown Building Control a structured format to record observations and highlight anything that needs attention whether it is an intervention or contravention. While site reports can look slightly different depending on the Building Control body, the idea is to create a clear and consistent record of each inspection.

Why They Are Used

For us at Cook Brown Building Control, inspection reports make it easier to keep a clear record of each stage of a project. They help track progress and provide documentation that sits alongside the wider Building Control process.

Summary

A Building Control inspection report is a straightforward tool for capturing what happens on site during an inspection. At Cook Brown Building Control, it’s part of how we make sure the inspection process is well-documented and easy to follow.
