In recognition of the multitude of projects that we have the privilege to work on across England and Wales, we have created several of our own awards, which are presented throughout the year. These awards give us the opportunity to showcase the successful developments and talented teams that we collaborate with, and the impact that these compliant schemes have in the wider community in relation to Build Quality, Design Excellence and Energy Innovation.
On the 15th May 2020, joint Managing Director, James Cook, presented Real Estate Developers, Connolly & Callaghan, with our Build Quality Award in recognition for their high level of detail demonstrated at Mary Seacole Court – a residential development on 110 Mina Road in Bristol.
The extension project was nominated for the Build Quality Award for many reasons ranging from the good quality materials, high-standard of workmanship and outstanding level of detail demonstrated on-site. The Building Surveyor who nominated this project communicated that the site was effectively managed throughout, safety levels were carefully maintained as residents still occupied the building, and the design of the flats achieved a high level of energy performance.
The £1.5m project consisted of a second-floor extension to create seven new eco-friendly flats, which are a mixture of one-, two- and three-bedroom properties, and an additional five parking spaces. Connolly & Callaghan used a light-weight steel frame system, clad inside and out and for effective insulation, enabling the building to gain the best possible U Values

Due to social distancing, we were delighted to present this award to Tony at their latest development at The Bayside, Weston Super Mare – another scheme that we are providing Building Control services for comprising twenty four high quality apartments, using modern technologies, and incorporating many energy efficient systems.
